PIYO 60 Day Challenge

Hey guys! We are just finishing up week 3 of the 60 day PIYO Challenge. I thought I would give a recap of how the week went, good and bad. Last weekend we started out Saturday with our cheat day. This has become Jon’s favorite say of the week, mainly because he gets to have wine, carbs and salt again. I love it because I get my Pumpkin Spice latte and of course the wine is great to relax with on a Saturday night.

Sunday we attended Family Fun Day at the Mercedes Club. It was a fundraiser for Moms In Training, Supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. We had a really good time and Em absolutely loved the live music. We already knew she was a music fan but we had never seen her reaction to seeing music played live. She was ecstatic! They also had some food from one of our favorite restaurants “Tololache”. We order from there when we are in the mood for Mexican and it is delicious. I tried hard to stay on my diet plan, I had a taco but did not eat the tortilla. It was a nice little treat!

When I woke up on Sunday morning, I had terrible pain in my left hip and the area on my lower back just above it. I could barely get out of bed but once up and moving I felt a little better. The when I woke on Monday, it was even more sore. So I decided to take Sunday and Monday off from PIYO. When I do my PIYO workouts, I am normally doing them while watching my little gal play on her activity mat or in her swing. Since I have one eye on her at all times it is really hard to make sure that I have perfect form. I know that since I have been doing the workouts with distractions that this is where I probably got injured. It was better by Tuesday but I am now a lot more aware of how I am doing each movement and try to be less distracted.

I am really pleased, with the results so far. Closing out week 3, I have lost 6 pounds and Jon has lost 7. We have not done measurements since the first day but we will be checking inches lost next week at the one month mark. I am glad that the weight has been coming off slowly, 2 pounds a week is a healthy weight loss. If I can lose 6 more pounds I will be back at my pre pregnancy weight and that has been my over all goal. I have been enjoying the challenge and I don’t even mind the clean eating portion. It is great to get our diets back on track, I really miss salt though! We have been coming up with some healthy, quick and easy recipes. I posted 2 this week: Quick and Easy Beef Stew and Herbed Quinoa with Scallops and Zucchini. We will be doing some more experimenting in the kitchen this week and I will try to share our successes with you guys.

How was your week? Any of you following the PIYO Challenge? I would love to hear from you guys!
