…in a way that won’t make you want to launch yourself right off the nearest high rise or into a three-day binge of self-loathing guilt.

Dieting and exercising is hard. It just is. It is a constant battle for most people. You have good and bad days, weeks, months. But for me, one key to my success is making sure I am not being deprived or feeling deprived. That’s where I get creative.

I am a sweets/desserts/chocaholic/sugar maniac. And let’s just face it, that is just a diet disaster wrapped up into one large, glittery bow.

Alas, I give you Sabotage-free Apple Crisp:

I am a Weight Watchers believer and program follower, so for a measly 5 points plus, I can have this little delectable and still remain on plan and guilt-free.


  • 1 medium sized apple (brand of your choice, I use whatever we have in our fridge.)
  • Penzeys Apple Pie spice (Regular cinnamon and nutmeg will do just fine too!)
  • Honeymaid lowfat honey graham crackers (1 cracker – 4 small crackers)
  • Edy’s slow churned vanilla ice cream (1/2 cup)

Step 1: Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

Step 2: Cut up apples into little pieces, and place in ceramic baking dish. Toss with your spices until coated generously.


Step 2: Cover dish and bake for 25-30 minutes.


Step 3: Remove apples from oven, pour into smaller cereal bowl (including the juices). Crunch one whole (4 small squares) graham cracker on top of apples.




Step 4: Scoop 1/2 cup of Edy’s Slow Churned vanilla ice cream on top and serve.


Voila, VERY easy and healthy!
