Ah, yes, the newly fashionable and quirky ugly Christmas sweater trend. While I will admit that I once was extremely enthused by the idea of sporting an unwanted grandma sweater, the novelty of the idea has worn off thanks to the overabundance of “new” ugly sweaters.
I was at Target the other week and saw that they had a new line of ugly holiday sweaters out. After debating whether or not I really wanted the one with the holiday cat on the front, I decided that paying $24 was not worth keeping up with the trend. Whatever happened to thrifting for an ugly Christmas sweater and paying $1? Isn’t the fun and whole point of the ugly sweater the fact that you thrifted up and down for that thing, which was probably donated by your cousin’s-friend’s-niece’s-grandma?
My advice? Time to ditch the tacky sweater and just roll with the punches. I’ve round-up some of my favorite holiday looks from years past which range from Christmas morning pajamas, to casual family gathering outfits, to dressier work party looks.
