Hello, lovelies! I’m Tonie from toniegirl (link for this is www.toniegirl.com) and delighted to be guest blogging on NYC Fit Food and Fashion today. My blog is a mix of beauty, fashion, food, lifestyle…all things that I love really. That being said, this month has included a lot about sequins and cocktails…two things that I can’t get enough of! When Joanne said she was in need of a guest blogger, I jumped at the chance to share some of my favorite cocktails with you all.

Holiday Sipping: Make Merry With These Festive Cocktails

What do holiday soirées, wrapping presents, and watching Christmas movies all have in common? All are perfect occasions for a festive cocktail. Grab your friends, turn on the carols and get your Ho! Ho! Ho! on.

Cranberry Apple Margarita {on the rocks}

cranberry margarita-Holiday Drinks

What you need

  • 1/2 cup cranberries
  • 3 ounces silver tequila
  • 1 1/2 cups sparkling apple-cranberry cider
  • Ice

Grab two glasses and fill with ice. I love the large ice cubes because they are slow to melt and are very cocktail festive. In a shaker, mash the cranberries, then add tequila. Shake. Pour into glasses, then top with the sparkling apple-cranberry cider.

Idea: This cocktail is just as festive without the tequila.

Pomegranate Bubbly

Holiday Cocktails

What you need

  • Bubbly
  • Pomegranate juice {the 100% stuff}
  • Pomegranate arils / seeds

Anything with bubbly is top on my list! This cocktail is simple to make by the glass or pitcher (one can’t have too large a party) and is perfect for any occasion, from breakfast to dinner.

Fill champagne glass 3/4 full of bubbly, top with pomegranate juice. Garnish with pomegranate seeds.

Idea: Make with blood-orange juice or a combo of blood-orange and pomegranate.

White Chocolate Peppermint Martini

White Chocolate Peppermint Martini

What you need

  • 1/4 cup white chocolate peppermint M&Ms
  • 1 cup almond milk (regular milk works also)
  • 2-3 ounces vodka
  • crushed candy cane

Use water to moisten the rims of two martini glasses. Crush a candy cane on a small plate, then gently dab the rims into the crushed candy cane. Now that the glasses look festive, we can mix up the drink.

Begin by melting the M&Ms in a small saucepan over low heat. As the M&Ms start to soften, slowly stir in 1/4 cup of milk. Continue to stir until chocolate is melted. Slowly stir in remaining milk and continue stirring. Once the chocolate and milk is completely blended (no chocolate chunks), remove from heat. Pour vodka into martini glasses, followed with the white chocolate peppermint milk. Use a candy cane to stir and serve.

Idea: Make this drink a winter white, by leaving out the red M&Ms and only using the white.
