I have lived in Hell’s Kitchen/Clinton for over a year now. Jon and I have had tons of time to explore and find some of our favorite places in the neighborhood. We have adventured up and down 9th Avenue searching for places to go for dinner, brunch, coffee etc. Today I am going to share with you some of our favorite spots:
Best Coffee: Kahve http://www.kahvebean.com/ You have to try the Cuban Coffee (Cortadito). They also have some yummy and colorful Macrons!
Best Thai Food: Q2 Thai 788 9th Ave between W 52nd and 53rd St. We eat here at least once a week usually for lunch. The food is really good and you can not beat the lunch special. For roughly $9-$10 you get a soft drink, salad with app and an entree. It is awesome I recommend the grilled duck or the drunken noodles!
Best Asian Fusion: Jing 689 9th Ave. http://wp.me/p3wWp1-oq This is our go to for really good sushi. I order a bento box every time because you just can not beat the price for the quality that you get.
Best Burger Spot: Island Burger and Shakes 766 9th Ave Between 51st & 52nd St. This is place has a huge burger menu. http://www.islandburgersandshakes.com/hellskitchen.htm I love the burgers, I cannot pick a favorite and the black & white shake is to die for.
Best Brazilian: Churrascaria Plataforma http://www.churrascariaplataforma.com/ This place has amazing MEAT, not really a great spot to take vegetarians! You will leave here fuller than you have ever been and with meat sweat for sure. I love this place!
Best Brunch: Chelsea Grill I have already done a review on my brunch. Here is the link to this amazing brunch spot! http://wp.me/p3wWp1-130
Best Pizza: Don Antonio 309 West 50th Street at 8th Ave. http://donantoniopizza.com/ This is hands down the best pizza I have ever had. Not just the best in NYC but the best ever anywhere!! If you decide to check it out you have to order the Montanara Starita. The best pizza ever I promise! This one is topped with smoked mozzerella, this is what makes the pizza so amazing. I am getting hungry just writing about it!
Best Cuban: Guantanamara We have eaten here more than once and love it. I loved it so much I have already written a post about it. You can find it here: http://wp.me/p3wWp1-1z
Best Mediterranean: Taboon http://taboononline.com/ We dined at Taboon during restaurant week. It is really yummy. I think my favorite part was the simplest part. They serve this amazing pita breads and hummus before your meal. It was so good we asked for extras!
Best Mexican: Arriba Arriba 762 9th Ave. http://www.arribaarribawest.com/ This place is always packed when we try to go. If you are willing to wait for a table it is definitely worth the wait. The guacamole and chips are worth the wait alone. I can not forget to mention that they have incredible margaritas!
I could go on and on. I have to mention Basera for Indian food, Mei Noodle Shop, and Ariana Kabob. These are all on 9th Ave along with most of the places on my list. If you are looking for somewhere to eat you will not have a problem finding a place on 9th Avenue!
